Join Equity Arts for our  pre -launch event on Thursday, November 3rd at Heaven Gallery!

Equity Arts is a community development project to buy a historical arts building and redevelop it into an arts and entrepreneurial incubator to create a locally owned sustainable ecosystem.

The pre-launch event will introduce our plans to buy the building and show how collective action can be turned into social impact.  The project has authored "The Chicago Model for Sustainable Culture", that provides an authentic solution to arts displacement in gentrified neighborhoods. Major cities around the world have implemented anti-displacement strategies for the arts, but Chicago has not. We believe Equity Arts is the emergence of this model.

This is a unique opportunity for community members to be part of creating an impactful arts anchor in Wicker Park's transit hub that heals past inequities to the arts while reclaiming the future by mentoring the next generation art leaders, social entrepreneurs and change makers.

Alma Wieser, President of Equity Arts and Heaven Gallery director, will be presenting alongside Vince Uribe, director of Arts of Life and LVL3 gallery. Presentations will begin at 7:30pm.
